Hi everybody.  My name’s Leonardo and I’m hosting the mother tongue teacher who is teaching at our school: Karen Kane. She is in Lovere for a short stage and teaches an hour a week in each class at our school. She graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Arts in Modern Languages.

She’s from Maryland, in the USA. She has got a boyfriend and a big family. She goes kayaking and horse riding, She likes gnocchi and pizza.

For Karen I’m the Italian teacher and I speak very little English with her.

My experience with her is very interesting. She’s very nice.

Her daily routine is the following:

She gets up at 7:00-7:15 in the morning;

She goes to school at 7:30-7:45;

She comes back home at 1:00 pm;

She has lunch at 1:30;

She has a snack at 4:30;

She has dinner at 8:30 – 9:00;

She goes to bed at 10:30 -11:00.

On Sunday She always sleeps all the morning, She gets up at lunch time. Karen is always very cold. She always stays in her bedroom, she comes out only for the meals.

Even though she sleeps a lot, she is an unfatigable traveler. She went to a lot of places in the world. That’s a photo of hers in Argentina.

Let’s ask her about her experiences:

Karen, do you like travelling around the world?

Yes, I love travelling and meeting people from other cultures and understand their way of life.

What experiences have you had?

I have done beautiful experiences studying abroad and travelling in addition to living abroad. It was a great experience travelling.

What is your best experience? And the worst?

The best experiences were the people I met and the relations with them. The best experience was in Viterbo, the worst was with my host family in Argentina because I didn’t get along well with them.

Where would you like to return to?

I would like to come back to Italy, to visit some places in Scandinavia and to travel in my home country, the USA.

What’s the next place you would like to visit?

I would like to visit Norway or Germany.

How many people have you met during your journeys?

I met many people because I like meeting new people, so I always met a lot of local people and tourists.

How many travels have you done with your family?

I went to Spain when I was at High school, to Switzerland last week and to Argentina. My family came to visit me.

How many travels have you done alone?

Most of my travels were alone I like to be independent and do things on my own.

We are happy to share with Karen her staying in Italy. I hope she will remember us with pleasure.
